A cute little shootemup game, I enjoyed this one! The sound effects are really nice and blend together great with the visual style, and the opening illustrations are amazing. In terms of gameplay, the enemy patterns are very simple and often a little grindy. I don't think the upgrade and weapons system mesh very well together, oftentimes some of the upgrades are useless: I wish that different weapons spawned more often, and that you kept your weapon after dying. However, all around this was an enjoyable little game, although it did get a little boring trying to go for the later medals as it is very repetitive when played over and over. Nice work with this one guys!

Amazing representation of madness as a series;
This game is fun and addictive as hell, I only wish it was a bit longer! Are there plans on adding those new game modes, or possibly new boss fights? Also dude the music in this game fucking BANGS. 5/5 great work yall

Very relaxing ,satisfying game! I've had this open in the background while I've done various different things, and it's really nice to see all of the progress I've made. I love all of the little details and design choices, I really wish I could switch back to old environments / backgrounds, though! Very cool game :)

This is a really sweet little game. Despite it being incredibly short and simple, the art is amazing, a little more simplified and cartoony than Hollow Knight (it's not a whole gigantic metroidvania game with a somber tone and lush environments), it's more a really sweet little story about paying tribute to his skeleton brother and I love it so, so much. :)

Where do I even start with this? I love this game. Not only do I love how it has seemingly brought back recognition to some popular newgrounds characters / series, I love everything it stands for. There is such a big community now creating amazing mods and everything. There are too many good ones to count, but obviously this is just a review of the main game so I'll start there... So, ok. To be fair, I haven't actually played this. I just kind of watched a whole bunch of people play it. I know, lame. I intend to actually play it soon obviously, preferably not in a buggy in browser version; but I got into this through Coryxkenshin, who I hadn't really watched until then. I know that's probably not a very amazing way to experience the game, but what I have experienced is amazing. The music absolutely slaps, every song in there. The characters are likeable, the gameplay (from what I can tell from other people saying so) is fun, the art style is neat, and the animations are very cool. I cannot wait to see what comes next, what with upcoming new weeks still being added, and new mods inevitably to be released for this game. My favorite part undoubtedly is the music, but this has turned into one of my favorite games of all time, even without playing it. Like I said, I love everything it stands for. The community, the music, the entire thing. This is just a spectacular game, lol. [Side note, this game is how I got into the madness combat series, and the culture of Newgrounds as a whole. I binge-watched the canon madness combat series in one sitting, literally, so yeah, thanks for introducing me to that, Tricky mod]

Update: I have played through the entire game on hard mode now, and suffice to say, this game rocks. Especially with the new input system updates, the game is incredibly smooth and rewarding to play, and I can't help but to replay the weeks every so often. Since posting this originally, the modding scene for FNF has grown even more, with even higher quality mods and much more in development. Funkin Forward has been one of the biggest sources of dopamine in my life for quite a while. Banger game, I absolutely cannot wait for the full ass game to be released!

Overall, an amazing game, and one of the best flash games I've ever played. Memorable characters, a really thoughtful story, and pretty good music, I loved how everything came together in my head at the end. The ending, while conclusive, left some things on a cliffhanger. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but for a game like this, I would've expected everything to wrap together, and I was kind of like "that's it?" (Don't let this stop you from playing this amazing game, though.) Great work, I'll stay hopeful for a sequel :D
